Because we are a neutral not-for-profit organisation and we’re not government, we are in an ideal position to bring diverse groups–pastoralists, government, industry, Indigenous people and communities–to work together collaboratively.
At Rangelands NRM we:
are well connected to people and ideas
are focused on the land and people
are committed to build sustainable rangelands
have a good understanding of the problems and opportunities that face the rangelands
have the skills and experience to deliver coordinated results
have a regional presence
We’ve been working in the rangelands since 2003 and in that time have delivered over 200 projects.
Significant programs managed by Rangelands NRM for the WA rangelands region:
Australian Government’s National Landcare Program – management of 49 projects
Australian Government’s Biodiversity Fund
WA State Government’s NRM Office Community Capability Grant
WA State Government’s Office of Emergency Management AWARE Project Grant
Great Victoria Desert Biodiversity Trust’s Adaptive Management Partnership Plan.
Previous programs successfully delivered in the region include:
Caring for Country Sustainable Agriculture Program
Australian Government’s Sustainable Environment Program; Landcare Program
Australian Government’s Innovation Grants (involving project management of 207 projects in total for all three programs)
