State Regional Landcare Facilitator Forum a ‘virtual’ success

On 19 February, seven of Western Australia’s Regional Landcare Facilitators (RLF) ‘virtually’ gathered via teleconference for their bi-annual state RLF forum to discuss the new National Landcare Program and changes that will broaden the scope of their roles.

Mary-Anne Clunie Ross, Regional Land Care FacilitatorRangelands NRM Regional Landcare Facilitator Mary-Anne Clunies-Ross joined facilitators from South Coast NRM (David Broadhurst and Kylie Bishop), South West Catchments Council (Monica Durcan), Perth NRM (Sandy Pate and Graham McAlpine), Wheatbelt NRM (Leigh Whisson), and the Australian Government Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator  for WA (Don Thompson) to look at feedback from the recent National Landcare Program community consultation and share a summary of their recent work.

The group also discussed the new WA Landcare Network and potential for a WA Green Nomads program.

Ms Clunies-Ross said the forum provided an important opportunity for the Regional Landcare Facilitators to share ideas, how to improve their work as an RLF and to discuss common issues.
